Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is the availability of boats?
All LTBC members have equal access to our fleet. And, since we keep a low member-per-boat ratio (maximum 8 members per boat compared to the competition’s standard 10 members per boat), you should always have the opportunity to rent a boat for your desired date, with the exception of the occasional high-demand holiday weekend like Labor Day and Memorial Day (be sure to reserve early for high-demand days!)
  • How do I make a reservation?
You can handle all your reservations in your smartphone using our App! reserve, order the toys you want on boards, cancel... easy and nice!
  • How long can I go out boating in each reservation?
We offer reservation blocks for an additional hour compared to the competition! Use any boat for either a Morning Reservation (8am – 1pm) or an Afternoon Reservation (2pm – 7pm.
  • What if I want to use the boat less than five hours?
No problem! Your reservation starts when you show up, even if it’s after 8am or after 2pm. Just make sure you return the boat by the end of the reservation window.
  • What if I need to cancel a reservation I have made?
You are able to cancel at any time without any penalty or cost to you. However, we do ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you cannot make your reservation so we can open up the reservation spot to other members.
  • How many days per month can I use the boats?
You can use the boats as often as you want except Mondays (closed). You can have 2 active reservations on weekends, and 2 on weekdays; once you use one reservation you may reserve another date.
  • Will I have availability on weekends?
Absolutely! Because of the 2 active reservations rule and our low member-per-boat ratio, in the top of the season you are guaranteed to have a minimum of two weekend days per month.
  • How many guests can I invite on board?
Each boat has a certified capacity, we have different boats with 16, 14, 13, or 10 persons on board.
  • Can I go boating on holidays?
Yes! Lake Toys is open on holidays; you just need to make your reservation in advance to ensure the date!
  • How do membership fees work?
You will only pay: Standard membership; initial fee $2,500 and monthly fees of $299. Season membership; only one-time fee of $4,500. Annual promo; (12x10 months); one-time fee of $5,500. Other than the membership fees, you will only pay for the fuel used in your trips; or in case of lost items (anchor, tubes, vests…) or damages to watercrafts.
  • Do I need a credit card?
Yes, you must maintain a credit card in our secure system at all times. This card will be used for charging any ongoing fees (if you select Monthly Membership) and for fuel charges at the end of each trip.
  • How do I sign up to the club?
Joining is very easy! Once your application has been submitted, a member of the team will reach out to you to confirm your details. Once your application is approved, you will receive access to the Member Portal to sign necessary documents, upload a credit card, and make your first reservation!
  • How long does it take between signing up and making my first reservation?
You can be in the water in no time! Once your contract is signed and fees are paid, you can make your first reservation. If boats are available for the same day or next day, then you can be on the water in as little as 24 hours, or in rare cases, the same day.
  • Am I also covered by any insurance?
Absolutely, all our members and their guests on board are fully covered by our insurance; included in your membership cost.
  • Who can be part of a membership?
Due to insurance coverage requirements, we allow only one person per membership if single, or two people if they are married.
  • Does a member have to be on the boat for each visit?
Yes, access cannot be granted to a reserved boat unless an approved member is present to board the boat.
  • Can I share my membership with a family member or a friend?
Yes. There is an additional fee of $150 to add a second owner of the membership. This cost is to have the name of the second user in the insurance policy.
  • How about the maintenance and safety of the boats?
All our fleet is constantly updated on maintenance and inspected before each trip. Also, we make sure all the regulatory safety items are on board at all times. By the way, if for some reason your boat wouldn’t work, we have immediate assistance from our staff!
  • Why joining a Boat Club instead of renting?
For the cost of renting a boat three times you could have a membership and go boating every weekend.
  • Why joining a Boat Club instead of buying one boat?
The investment to buy a boat can be expensive, but more important are the costs of owning a boat; like maintenance, insurance, marina slip, etc… at Lake Toys we take care of everything! Just bring your friends and family to your reserved boat, it will be clean, gassed up, and ready for you to enjoy the boating lifestyle!
  • Is it difficult to drive a boat? I have no experience at all…
Piloting a boat is easy and safe after getting the training from our licensed captain, especially the pontoon boats. There are basic safety rules to observe when boating, for example slow speed in the marina and no-wake zones, not to speed around other boats, watch for skiers and swimmers…
  • Do I need a license or special training to use the boats?
When joining The Club, you will receive training from our licensed captain. In the case of wake/ski powerboats, you will need a boating certification from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept (https://www.boaterexam.com/usa/texas/)
  • I’m I limited to a perimeter or to certain areas?
Not at all! You can go anywhere in Lake Travis and the Colorado river during your reservation time.
